Naino offers solutions adapted to content providers and network resource providers. For multicast-compatible networks Naino also offers the possibility to connect them to MBone.

Our solutions for content providers

Digitisation

The content provider cannot control the digitisation of his data carriers. Naino provides the necessary aid to do this and prepares the content so it is ready to be broadcast in the format accessible to the highest number of people (Real Networks / QuickTime / Windows Media Player ...), be it off-line or live

Formatting a stream in Multicast

Since Multicast formatting is not yet standardised it is rare that content providers are in the position to do this job themselves. Naino can perform this additional computational service before each emission.

Sharing to make content provider programmes more profitable

Naino is working to set up the Multicast Friendly Internet Exchange (MFIX) with a view to encourage its big content provider clients to link-up their networks so that they can broadcast via several network resource providers and reduce their infrastructure costs even further.

Our solutions for network resource providers (and companies)

Adapting a network to multicast

Every network can be optimised for the processing of certain streams by using multicast. Some networks, like cable networks and LAN, can transmit multicast streams all the way to the end-user. It is possible to adapt these networks for that purpose. Most routers and switches on the market are multicast compatible, so the adaptation can usually be done quickly and relatively inexpensively.

Enhancing the content

Broadcasting an interactive channel, a barker channel, a auto-promotion channel, a mosaic of TV programmes, organising virtual press conferences, a guide for multicast programmes etc...

Having a multicast network will open a world of new business opportunities for the network resource provider and improve his customer relations.

Naino can advise the network resource provider on how to develop an adapted content offer, and later help him to benefit from the channels of co-operating content providers connected to MFIX.

Sharing to make network resource provider programmes more profitable

Network resource providers can become content providers by developing their own content and offering it to the clients. By connecting to MFIX they will be able to extend this offer to other interested network resource providers. For example: an event taking place in Paris can then be broadcast by all cable network resource providers in the French-speaking world.

Our solution for connecting to MBONE

MBone has been available since the beginning of the 1990s and broadcasts a large number of, but not exclusively, university-related content in multicast. Radio stations, TV channels and concerts are also broadcast on MBone. We at Naino will assess whether a connection to MBone is technically feasible, and if it is, we will realise it..
